Banking should answer to the
household, not the individual.
I grew up watching my mother keep the family money in a box, and my father keep his own. Nothing was hidden exactly, but nothing added up either. Every question about the household finances was answered twice, separately, by two people who both had to remember what they had already agreed.
Tyde exists because that arrangement does not scale, and because the alternative we were offered was not a better version of it. It was the same model with a brighter app on top. If all we had done was that, we would have made the problem harder to see rather than easier to fix.
So we built one account for a household. You can still see your own money clearly and keep it private, and your mother can put money into the goal you are both saving for without either of you having to ask the other. That is not a feature we bolted on. It is the reason the company exists.
It is early, and we will get things wrong. When we do, we will say so here rather than bury it in a status page.
